OpinionUP holds regular debates on current events and trending topics of interest every Tuesday at 8PM EST. Debate winners are selected by their fellow debate participants. Get to know the winner of the debate “Rethinking Education in America”: @conservativepanda!
1. What’s your favorite topic to debate?
I love to debate highly controversial issues (abortion, immigration, gun rights, etc). They allow me to really express my values and beliefs on today’s society. It also helps to facilitate discourse on divisive issues that hopefully will allow opposing viewpoints to understand each other.
2. Who was your favorite president?
President Abraham Lincoln was my favorite President. I know this maybe cliché and redundant, but he was the president that united (with the victory in the civil war) the United States over the most controversial issue of thar time, slavery. He helped to show compassion and end the slavery of African Americans.
3. What is your ideal profession?
My ideal profession would be a medical specialist (either cardiologist or nephrology) in the Air Force.
4. What’s your favorite quote?
“Ask what you can do for your country, not what the country can do for you”
5. Do you have a favorite sports team?
I love the New England Patriots. I’m not a bandwagon, my roots are all in New England and been a fan all my life even though I live in central United States.
6. If you had a million dollars to donate to charity, which charity would you pick?
I would pick the various organizations that are pro life and help support women and the children. I want to help these charities because they help to support expecting families and help to provide safe and stable homes for adoption options.
7. What series do you enjoy binge watching on Netflix?
I like to watch Arrow, Flash, The 100, and Legends of Tomorrow. I wanted to watch Supergirl but the show was too blatantly political.
8. Describe yourself with one word.
9. Would you rather have a billion dollars or be president?
I’d say I would like a billion dollars because I believe I can do more change and goodness with money and not get caught up with politics and issues as president.
10. What would you change about yourself if you could?
I would try and change my confidence level. I’m friends with a lot of people who have opposite views and I’m always scared to share my beliefs because of the ridicule and insults they attribute to people who believe opposite of them.
